2. Blush & gold — romantic glamour

Colours: blush pink, champagne, soft gold, ivory.

Recommended flowers: "Quicksand" and "Sweet Avalanche" roses, blush ranunculus, pink astilbe, champagne-toned lisianthus, dried bunny tail grass.

Ideal season: late spring through early autumn.

Best venue type: Provençal bastides, château estates, elegant hotels with golden stone walls. The warm, honeyed architecture of venues in Grasse, Mougins and the Nice hinterland provides a natural complement to blush and gold tones, making flowers and setting feel like one cohesive design.

3. Lavender & cream — Provençal charm

Colours: soft lavender, wisteria purple, cream, pale green.

Ideal season: May through July, when lavender is at its peak.

4. Terracotta & olive — warm rustic

Colours: terracotta, burnt sienna, olive green, warm cream.

True blue flowers are relatively rare in nature, which makes this palette feel special and intentional. I often supplement with blue hydrangea dyed from white stock for reliable colour, combined with naturally blue delphiniums and thistles for authenticity.

6. Peach & apricot — sunset warmth

Colours: soft peach, apricot, warm coral, cream.

Recommended flowers: peach garden roses ("Juliet" David Austin), apricot ranunculus, peach stock, coral sweet peas, peach-toned carnations, warm eucalyptus.

Ideal season: late spring through summer.

Best venue type: west-facing terraces, sunset ceremony spots, warm-toned stone venues. The French Riviera's sunsets are legendary, painting the sky in exactly these peach and apricot tones every evening. 7. Burgundy & plum — autumn-winter drama

Colours: deep burgundy, plum, dark berry, dusty rose, dark green.

Ideal season: October through February.

Ideal season: summer, or January–March for mimosa.

Best venue type: vibrant garden parties, beach celebrations, poolside receptions, colourful Mediterranean villas. This joyful palette channels the exuberance of the Côte d'Azur — its citrus groves, bougainvillea and sun-drenched markets. It's perfect for couples who want their wedding to radiate happiness and energy.

Coral and yellow may be bold, but it never feels overwhelming when balanced with plenty of green foliage and white accents. The famous mimosa of the Riviera — blooming from January through March — is a spectacular yellow focal flower that connects your celebration to this specific corner of the world.
